Its time to build!

The Long Island Children's Museum is hosting the first exhibition of our Aging Out of Foster Care project.  Everybody Needs Someone is the title for the exhibition. The tentative opening date is Saturday June 16th.  We start installing June 13th.

The Aging Out of Foster Care Book (preview here) is well under way and will be ready in time for the opening.  We plan to have a draft printout of the book at the meeting for proofing.

The Kickstarter fundraiser has been submitted.  We hope it launches May 2.  It will run for only 35 days.To see the preview of the Kickstarter and the video pitch we worked so hard on please follow this link:

The LICM functions on a shoestring, therefor we have to raise every penny needed for every aspect of this project.

We need everyone who can volunteer some time to let us know what they would like to help with for the upcoming Aging Out Of Foster Care project's culminating exhibition and book!

-We need everyone to help spread the word about the fundraiser once it goes live in late April.
-We need anyone with prop experience to help with the interactive aspect of the exhibition
-We need anyone who can create signage or facilitate signage and labeling for the exhibition.
-We need people to help build braces for mounting the art (Manhattan)
-And, we need people to help install and de-install the show at LICM. (Nassau County LI)

Can't wait to see you at the Meetup!
Bring snacks/drinks and your creative thinking caps.  The studio rental cost is $25 hr.  Please be on time as we have to be done by 8:30pm & if you can pitch in to help pay the cost please do.

Great and worthy project - organized leaders, enthusiastic volunteers, it's going to be a great success - now we need money - kickstarter and every other way - keeping my fingers crossed.
