Saturday March 9th the 20th annual McMinnville Wine and Food Classic (SIP of McMinnville). 170 of the areas wine, food, and art vendors (70 Wineries) will be at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum (worth the admission just to see the museum). The SIP runs from 12 PM until 9 PM on Saturday. I'm scheduling from 5 PM but I know many will come earlier and some maybe later.
Enjoy the culinary variety and relaxed atmosphere. Watch some of the area's best Chefs in the Northwest demonstrate their skills. Talk with winemakers and vintners and learn the intricacies of their trade. Purchase by the taste, glass, bottle or case. Visit with the artisans and view their work which is available for purchase. We went as a Meetup group last year and had a great time. There was live music and of course we danced a little. For those who prefer beer, there were beer booths also.
There is a free shuttle running every half hour from McMinnville and stopping at hotels along the route. There is a fee to park on the Museum grounds but there are free parking lots in the area. I recommend getting a room somewhere rather than drive back to Salem.
General Admission: $17.00 Tasting glass is not free but you can bring your own glass if you choose to.
Senior Admission: $15.00
Designated Driver: $15.00 for 3 or more people - unlimited non alcoholic beverages free and a souvenir cup.

You can purchase a ticket in advance on their web site using a credit card or at the door and the local hotels are linked from their Web site. A number of us stayed at the Red Lion last year and had "open door, room tastings" with some of the wine we bought at the SIP. I reserved my room already and there are only 30 rooms left as of today - Sunday, Jan 20th.
All Proceeds from the Crab, Shrimp, Oyster, and Beer booths go towards scholarships of St. James students.
