Very crowded. Not at all what I expected. Thought it would be more of a organized meet up. Was just a bunch of random people at a grand opening for a brewery. Which was fun but don't need a meet up group to do that. Sorry don't mean to offend. Just saying how it was.

Actually I did post that I put signs on the big table. (see posts below). There were many signs on the table. The problem was there was so many people gathered around the table that you would have to walk close to it to see it. I should have made that more clear.

I was delighted to join the group for the first time, finally, and that I was able to meet some very nice people.

They have a nice amount of space, but because of the number of people and lack of sound absorbing surfaces, it was very loud. All things considered, it was a good grand opening for them. I wish Vagabond good luck in their new venture and hope they get some food service added.

This was my first Meetup, and I didn't know what to do. I feel that it would have been nice to know where the group was sitting.

Brian and Faren, It was the largest table along the wall next to the stage. I am so sorry you did not see the meet up signs on the table. When we started at 6 we were very obvious but as it got real crowded I was afraid this might happen. Again I am so sorry and I hope you give the group another chance.

Looks like a big group. Should b fun' qThere is plenty of room for everyone but seating is limited so arrive early if u want to sit. I will be there b4 6 to try to hold a big conference table size table. I will lay a paper with the meet up logo in the middle of the table. I could use help holding the table so I will buy the first beer for the first five meet-ups who show up tonight!

Heads up! Tomorrow, Saturday Feb 15 is Zwickelmania, celebrating Oregon's craft brews. Free local shuttle bus service between Vagabond, Gilgamesh, Salem Ale Works, The Ram, Thompson Brew, and Santium. Tours start at Santiam at 11:45am. Portland breweries also participating.
Not an official group event but a party nonetheless!

Vagamond brewing is being started by four Veterans recently returning from service. (one of which is my daughter's fiancé). It is the same group that gave us the FREE tasting last year downstairs at the bottle shop. After years of hard work they are ready to open up their brewery. It is a friendly venue with a stage for entertainment and events. Their craft beer is excellent and they have a large venue with plenty of room and tables for socializing. It is a business that will really add a lot to the options of all of us living in Salem Keizer area. Lets give them a big welcome!

Sounds really cool, Richard. Go Veterans! This will be my first event with the group. What's the food like?

    1 · February 10, 2014

    • Richard W.

Ben, Since this is the grand opening, they are not open yet so no one has tasted any of the food, but I am sure it will be great!

I will be on the way to Ashland to see Driving Miss Daisy in which my mother in law is starring.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
