Columbia Gorge overnighter

Spring has Sprung. With good water flows now is a great time to visit the Columbia Gorge The falls will be at their best with new leaves on the trees and wild flowers too. The gorge has more than 30 water falls that are accesible by trials. Multnomah Falls to Wahkeena is a classic loop worthy of mention, at about 5 miles its a great hike, others like Angels Rest or Devils Rest offer views of the gorge from up high. Across the river is Dog Mt. with a tough climb but a great view from top not to mention its wildflower displays. Has your day pack been crying to get out? dust off your hiking poles and join us.

We are are planning for two days of exploring the falls. Several camp grounds are in the area and should have a place for us at one of them.

Thanks for the information Rick. I'd really be happy if we can get spots at this campground. I have 5 campgrounds bookmarked on my phone maybe 100 spots or more. Starting at Ainsworth going east well see how it goes. Maybe I should have made it Friday Saturday nights :-)

Hi, I have a question. Organizers, please weigh in on this one. How family friendly/ kid friendly is our hiking group? I had someone bring this up recently. Also, my 12 year old asked me if he could go on this camp out/hike(s).

Thanks David. That's what I've always thought as well, yet since it came up I realized I wasn't certain how to answer.

Ainsworth State park has showers and tent sites or pull ins. Its about a mile up river from Horse Tail Falls and is off the Freeway enough to be pleasant.
