I will be bringing a friend and will drive from McMinnville. Anyone up in this area can join us to carpool leaving about 8:30am to meet the group on time at the trailhead. Please message me via meetup rather than posting in the comments. Thanks!

Let's meet at the Rite Aid parking lot at 1201 Oregon 99W, McMinnville, OR ‎ at 8:30am. I can drive from there if you like. I will email Alison & John separately with my contact info. One friend from here is joining too so that would make a comfortably full vehicle though we could squeeze in one more person if needed.

My kids can hang on the hike. They've done quite a bit of hiking with me but we don't really ever go with anyone else. This will be all new for the three of us. I think I'll take them up Friday and camp at the trailhead campground. See you all Saturday morning

Although I might have to cancel my RSVP due to something that came up, if I go I might bring my 12 year old. He also can hang and is used to hiking. I'm glad to see other parent/kids on some of these hikes.

Keven I am also new to this. I have kids too (6 & 8yrs.). Just don't know anywhere to hike. I am up for a family hike if there are others out there who know of good hikes.

Hello. I'm new to this groupand would like to start joining hikes but have a few questions. I have two children, 13 and 9 years old. Are kids welcome to come along. Is there carpool or a bus and if so, how much does one typically pitch in

    June 17, 2013

    • Carla

I think kids are welcome, I am just not sure this would be a good hike for them. Perhaps Marys Peak might be a better choice for them? There are a few people in the group with kids. Perhaps you could suggest a family hike and we could post it. Yes, we carpool. I don't think anyone has a bus. Generally we give drivers 7 cents per mile for gas.

Carla, this doesn't sound like a hike for beginners?? Is this hike all up hill, traversed??

    May 29, 2013

    • Carla

yes, this is uphill. But if you are in reasonable shape, you should be able to do this hike regardless of your hiking experience. Hiking is 80% in the mind.

It's weird I didn't receive this message in my e-mail. In any event, I am rather out of shape! As much as I'd love to do this, I would definitely slow people down I think. Thanks for letting me know! Perhaps next time!!
