These two trail systems are within 4 block of each other and together will make about a 5 mile run. We will meet up at the Front, not the back, parking lot in Minto. There is very limited parking at the trail head which is less than a mile away. We should car pool if there are more than 3 cars.
The Croisan trail is a one mile long trail owned by the City of Salem. It is a well maintained trail, dirt track but very well groomed. In the middle of it is the "street to nowhere". Three blocks of street with curbs and even a fire hydrant that were abandoned to nature, not connecting to anything. It is pretty cool.
At the top of this trail we go through 4 or 5 blocks of neighborhood to connect to the Skyline loop that is on the Sprague High School property. This is the trail that SATA has been building and we have had several trail building events for. A dirt trail that is very nice run.
SKYLINE LOOP TRAIL
After the loop we go back through the city streets to return on the Croisan trail to the start. This is a beautiful natural area and you hardly know you are even in the 'city. You will be sure to enjoy it. There is some elevation in this one but it is usually not overly steep.
