Foreigner concert - Northwest Art & Air Festival in Albany

  • Aug 24, 2013 · 5:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

The show starts at 8pm.  I imagine this one will be packed! We may need to meet earlier. I can't find any information on whether there is an admission charge for the concert and/or the fair.  If anyone knows, please comment below.

It's Foreigner...need I say more??

With ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits, Foreigner is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 75 million. Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero”, “Feels Like The First Time”, “Urgent”, Head Games”, “Say You Will“, “Dirty White Boy”, “Long, Long Way From Home”, and the worldwide #1 hit, ”I Want To Know What Love Is”, Foreigner continues to rock the charts more than thirty years into the game.

I guess there isn't much interest here and I am pretty sure the wristbands will go quick...I think I will also pass on the concert also. I think I will just go check out the booths and maybe grab a beer. Stress free and casual. If anyone wants to hang with me send me an email and it will come to my phone... Happy Saturday!!

Hi Joy, I wish you or someone attending had expressed a preference so we would know - I have to take my pc into the shop today soon and won't have it back to get your response if you post a response. You might let attendees know what you would like for place and time, same to attendees.

You sound like you have the better plan John. I'm thinking the concert can get pretty hard to get into, might fill up ahead of time, I don't want to be there more than a few hours and that listening to it from the outside would be more to my liking. If people who are going want to meet up, there are two large graveled parking lots, irregardless of where you park tho if you go to the Linn Co. Veteran's Honorary site, there is a cement plaza under the flags of all the military, meeting at the brick that holds the description of the site would seem a good option. This area borders the northern most parking lot (the 2 park lots are close to each other.) There's lots of art booths and a food court of course and the beer garden and I would think folding chairs would be just fine as well.

Here is some info from the event website..."Amphitheater gates open at 2 p.m. for general admission. Wristbands will be placed on all persons entering the venue and will be required to enter or exit the Amphitheater. Once the Amphitheater has reached capacity, individuals can listen to the concert from other areas in the park." From looking at the event map, it looks like the beer garden is on the other side of the event from the ampitheatre.

John, I do not know if saving tables is allowed or for how long. But if you are offering to Host this event then I can go at 5:15 and look for a table in the Beer Garden (or at least one empty seat at a table if there is not a whole empty table) to sit at with an "O-40" sign on the table for folks to find the group. I will need to know if you would like me to do this.

5:30 is likely a good time Tracy as there are art and merchandise booths to look around at if we've time. I haven't been for a few years but I am happy to scout around the park beforehand for a suitable landmark to serve as our meeting place, or Tony might know the park and a place to meet there.

This event needs a host to organize the meeting place/time. If no one is willing to step up please consider this just an fyi on the group's calendar.
