This is a Meet Up group for Salmon Bay Paddle, a Seattle based Paddle Board and Kayak instruction and tour school owned by SUP guidebook author and expert certified instructor Rob Casey. Experience is required to go on our Meet Up Group Paddles. Wanna learn to SUP? Check out our basic class options below to get started. First time? We work individually with each person so you feel comfortable. We work with all body types, physical levels and ages novice through advanced. Many of our students lives have been transformed by SUP! We also have strong focus on safety so you have more fun.

1.5 hour SUP Basics - Includes all gear and expert instruction.
2.5 hour SUP Basics, Includes all gear, expert instruction and class review.
Fundamental SUP Skills - 1 Full day. Progress from novice to intermediate in a day!
SUP Surfing - Learn to surf in WA! We start on small waves. Everyone catches a wave!
Tidal Rapids Fun in Deception Pass - Learn how to paddle a SUP in current!
Freighter & Tug Wave Surfing - Surf epic waist to chest high waves in Seattle.
SBP Skill Levels:
Level 1 - Beginner. Never paddled before or have had a lesson. Have only gone a few times in summer. Not comfortable in bumps and paddling on your own.
Level 2 - Intermediate. You can handle boat and wind waves with ease standing, you can turn and stop on your own in bumps, you can paddle in up to 20kts of wind, have done SUP surfing (recently), maybe have taken our DP class, own your own gear and paddle regularly.
Level 3 - Advanced. You can handle wind up to 40kts; surf waves up to 5+', paddle often, have paddled for several years, may have solid river/currents experience, and have your own gear.
Who Shouldn't Sign Up? You can't swim; You don't want to wear a leash and PFD; You might be a no show for a trip your RSVP'd on; You don't care about safety; You have a crappy attitude.
