Francisco (Paco) began his latin dance career while in high school. There he joined a latin dance group called, Latin American Students United (LASU). Their participation in different latin dance competitions throughout the state of Maryland enabled them to win many trophies in several latin dances. In 2004, Paco had won trophies in all of the divisions of the Annual Latin Dance Competition in Maryland with his designated dance partners. In addition, he participated in the Washington Post Music and Dance Awards, where he was a finalist. Paco has also performed at Warner Theater in Washington DC., the United States Department of Education, United States Department of Agriculture, and in many Latin festivals in the Washington, DC area.
For a year in college, Paco created his own salsa dance group and choreographed routines with a blend of salsa, reggaeton, bachata, merengue, cha-cha, and tango. In 2008 he joined Dynamix, and has performed at several venues including the Annual Eastern’s Dance Challenge, Las Vegas Salsa Congress, New York Salsa Congress, Washington DC Salsa Congress, Miami Salsa Congress, and Philadelphia Salsa Congress.
Born and raised in Washington, DC, and growing up surrounded by the rich flavors of her Hispanic heritage, Sylvia has always loved latin music and dancing.After watching shows with professional salsa performers, she became inspired to learn the techniques of Latin dance, including choreography and lifts and tricks. Sylvia began formal salsa training in 2008 and quickly joined the student performance group, Salsazon. After a year, she joined the salsa performance group, Dynamix. Sylvia has performed at the Annual Eastern’s Dance Challenge, Las Vegas Salsa Congress, Miami Salsa Congress, Philadelphia Salsa Congress, and several venues in the Washington, DC area.
Sylvia’s love of dance grew to include a passion forMiddle-Eastern music, which led to her interest in mastering belly dance. She has trained extensively with Souzan since 2008, becoming an artful belly dancer and instructor. She has performed solo and in a troupe in several venues in the Washington, DC area. Sylvia also teaches the belly dance troupe, Troupe Booseh.
