Hi Fly Fishers!,
Ok, this time more notice so you can clear your schedules. The Green is far less crowded this time of year and the weather is still typically awesome! and the fishing can be awesome too, with midges and tricos dominating the dry fly action and possibly some fall caddis. Of course streamer fishing really turns on as fish are looking for the bigger meals. You in Ken?
I will keep the lodging option open. If the warm weather stays we can camp, if not we can arrange for some low-cost local lodging, sharing rooms where it makes sense.
An early start will get us on the morning bite Saturday and we will fish through noon on Sunday and then head back.
Right now the flows are low enough to wade across providing additional access, also enabling beginners to get closer to the fish.
Plan to car pool and share the cost of gas with the drivers.
I'm going to pre-fish the Green this weekend. I will update this Meet-up after with results.
PS. I pre-fished the Gorge last weekend and it was tough going but I managed 5 fish Sunday and 6 fish Monday. Pics below are: 1) Me with a nice rainbow 2) A pic of teh Gorge 3) My buddy Greg with a nice brown
