Provo Nights - Lower, Cement steps

Hi Fly Fishers!

Since summer and long days are here, the plan is to have a meet-up on the lower Provo each Wednesday night, hopefully casting dry flies to rising fish.  Some of you just need practice casting and getting your drift right and I can help with that too.

Last Wednesday the fish were active  and rising and yet fly selection was still a challenge.  Midges still dominate, despite solid baetis hatches and nymphing a zebra midge or similar works well.  The Copper John in size 18 is working too!   Right at dark PMDs were drawing some strikes

Hopefully we won't have too many tubers on a weeknight!

Great fishing with Nico and Ward! Lots of rising trout early, then it shut down. PMDs were on! We changed over to nymphs but not soon enough. Had a dry spell around 8pm. Overall a fun night!

Had a great time. I caught 4 browns (I'm a beginner). Mark stopped counting at 12.

Lets hope the clouds stay around and it warms up 10 degrees or so. It will encourage a hatch and cloudy skies will discourage tubers!
