Aspen Grove Lughnassadh Community Camp Out

  • Aspen Grove Strawberry River Location

Happy Naked Pagan Dance!

The Annual Aspen Grove Community Lughnassadh campout 2014 is on!

Aspen Grove has been providing great public sabbats for several years...and the Aspen Grove Lughnassadh/Lammas ritual has become legend! This will be the 7th year that the Aspen Grove Lughnassadh campout has been held at Daniels Canyon, a remote and sacred place used in the past by Quickbeam Circle and other local Pagani.

This event will run from Wed, July 30 through Sunday, August 3. Many events are being planned for this campout, including the infamous Friday night Barding Circle and a Saturday evening Lughnassadh ritual centered by the infamous Fire Pit Crew.  Additional details on the time of the ritual will be available at the camp out.

We have heard from Windwood that there will be a return of Commando Croquet on Saturday! There will be a community feast before the ritual ..please bring a substantial dish to share!

-The cost of attending this camp out is:

Plan A: Pay $5 and a bundle of wood. This plan also requires that you volunteer for a clean up duty during your stay. Camp duties can include cleaning the up community campsite, harvesting fallen wood for the community fire, hauling out trash, swabbing out the potties or other tasks as necessary. You don't get to cherry pick, duties must be assigned as needed.

Plan B: $25 and a bundle of wood. This plan is for those who are unwilling or unable to perform camp duties. Being lazy costs....

You can pay as you arrive, or you may prepay at Crone's Hollow (2470 S. Main St). Crone's Hollow is not in charge of this event, but has agreed to collect the money. Everyone is responsible for bringing up shelter, food and water for themselves and their camp.

Thanks for more detail. I hadn't seen Hwy 40 mentioned in the original directions, just 146. The highways split and one could choose either way, looking at the map. It is clear now, much appreciated! Not sure how my schedule is going to go but I would enjoy getting out, that's for sure!

Hi, interested, but wondering some things. From mapquest I can't tell what "Go through Heber up Daniels Canyon" means. I don't see Daniels Cyn on map, but there's a Daniels Cyn Road. Does one stay on Hwy 146 until MM 37, or get on this other road? Also, couldn't find anything called Strawberry River Rd on map; directions just say mile 37 is "Strawberry River." Can someone kindly clarify these points?
Also, I just have Weds & Thrs off. Who's planning to head up Weds night and be around Thurs? I could come Weds eve or just for the day Thurs to hang out, and if it isn't too far of a drive from SLC maybe come back after work Sat IF I get out in time. Not sure if Sat possible.
PS is it campground, dispersed camping, or at least nearby dispersed option? I am really sensitive to smoke and need to park my truck/camper shell away from fires for sleeping. Hope it's possible without too much chaos-- usually is.
Thanks guys, any info will help me figure out my plans. I appreciate it.

The ritual will begin around 7pm Saturday. Feasting will be prior to the actual ritual. Please remember to bring a substantial dish to share & your own feasting dishes/silverware.
