October 26-30th, 2014 (Sunday-Thursday)*Capacity 10*
Our last WRL trip was in June of 2009. Based upon our past experience, it is definitely time to return. SRTU has negotiated a group trip opportunity with a stay at the Watauga River Lodge. With lots of fishing opportunities in the area, it could be that each day represents a different float trip for a different river. In 09, our guided fishing consisted of two days for trout and one day for smallmouth bass. Quite simply, this is guided fishing and lodging at its best.
Our guides: Brownie Liles, Ollie Smith, Tim Holcomb, Brad Barnes and Travis France have more experience fishing these waters than almost anyone else. You will have a great time and you WILL catch fish.
Below are highlights and details of our upcoming WRL outing.
Cost: Budget $1200. This price includes accommodations, meals and guide fees. The WRL is located on a trophy section of trout water. In 09, our cost was $858 pp.
Dates: October 26th-2014 (Sunday) arrival with guided fishing October 27th-29th, Monday-Wednesday. Departure date Thursday Oct 29th, we will be able to fish on the arrival and departure days on the trophy section of the Watauga.
From Columbia to the Watauga River Lodge is 221 miles via car pool.
What you are paying for?
3 days of guided fishing, breakfast, lunch, 4 nights of accommodations payable to Watauga River Lodge. For trout, we fish the Watauga, South Holston and the Holston River for smallmouth bass. We are fishing during the least pressured times on the rivers; this should be prime time for numbers and size of fish.
