Rules - SABD
Basic Etiquette - Expectations All potential dog owners who may have questions about a specific breed or about dog ownership in general are welcome to attend our meet-ups.
Big Dawgs' Purpose We like to think that our Big Canine Companions are special partly because they’re so gloriously BIG!!! But, sometimes if you’re a big dog, it’s hard to socialize and get in your exercise in a small-dog world. You want to spend some time with dogs who are on your eye-level, don’t you? You’re tired of looking down and your neck hurts.
So, if you and your big, four-legged friend are looking for an activity -- other than watching TV -- that you can do together; if you both like being outdoors and meeting new people/dogs in a safe environment w/responsible owners, then maybe we’re the people+dogs for you!
Our purpose is for us dog owners (and potential dog owners) to get out and have some doggone, tail-wagging fun while also socializing our furry four-legged friends!! (Socialization is just as important for dogs as humans!) And, we almost guarantee long naps after our meet-ups.
Who We AreCome on out for pet- and family-friendly events in dog parks, pet parades, festivals, and on hiking/walking trails. We also schedule socializing & training games at indoor/outdoor dog friendly places -- and more!! All big dogs are welcome – and, especially if your pooch could use some practice in Playing Well With Others! You remember how tough it was to learn how to do that back in the day. Well, we know that no one will appreciate these fun and educational good times more than that sock-eating, squeaker-toy annihilating, stuffed-animal-ingesting, four-legged furry friend, who is also – incidentally your canine soulmate...
"quit hiding and let's go meet up!"New Members1) Do not include any personal information (i.e. phone number or e-mail addresses) Our pages are not private, thus, your profile information will be visible to everyone, including programs designed to capture e-mail addresses for spammers.
2) Please list the initial of your last name so we can tell the difference between Jennifers/Kennys/Toms. If you wish to change your "name" click on account (on the right upper corner) and you can edit your name at any time. We prefer you use your real name because it makes it easier to get to know you.
3) We kindly REQUEST that you fill out each profile question. After all, if you aren't willing to spend the time and put some thought into completing a 2 minute profile, you are probably a MINO (member in name only; aka "not an active member").
Please re-read Meetup.com's
Terms of Service especially section 6.2. You agreed to it in order to use this site. You may not have read it, but you had to check the box that said you did. In general, section 6 says an organizer or a member cannot be held responsible for injury, property damage, etc., etc, to you, your dog, your car, your favorite jeans or the leather item that was mistaken for a chew toy.
This Group is for you and your Companion!
