Where to start? I have been "sick" of the system we have now, with its consumerism, greed, waste, etc. I heard someone say things made out of boredom and drudgery have that in them. I love to see the human hand and creativity in something. I want to see just how far we can go with wisdom and living closely with a living environment. I long for something better than what we have now. We seem to be slaves to this system. I need to have hope. The world , the planet and the life on it is sustainable - we are biological - we are children of this planet and it's network of life. Surely we could find a way to live sustainably also. I want to be around others who feel this same desire and are willing to explore the possibilities.
I have researched theories and applications of permaculture. My little "urban farm" aka my yard is where I practice. I have a garden, ponds, and chickens. I have lots of ideas for projects, but I implement what I can within my ablities and capabilities.
I have watched a few things on youtube. I have visited a few websites and read articles. I have not read a book.
Hi, I am Aletha, an artist, and a self proclaimed :) urban farmer. I had decided to stop calling the area around my house in a San Antonio neighborhood , the "yard" and rather call it "my little farm". Permaculture hits me square in my aesthetic!
