Thank you for all this input, Barbara.  I love your idea of the community garden and this is something I would like to be involved in though it could only be occasionally because I live a distance from the city.  It would be especially wonderful to have a location in the city where teaching and demonstrations could be held.  Even simply a location where we can get together to discuss permaculture would be great!
