Re: [San-Antonio-Permaculture] Another Activity Idea

The details for the meetings are being ironed out, and the meetings will “commence to being” shortly. We will have a seed exchange.
If you plan to have a Spring garden from seed, you may not want to wait that long to get started tho, to get them established before the summer heat.
You might consider buying  a few to get them started inside your house by a sunny window.
Stay tuned!

I am interested in seed exchanges, however, this is my first year in SA and have no seeds to share! I do have a Jun Kombucha scobie I could share... it's hungry.

I vote for having meetings because I'm trying to meet people in SA and I prefer in-person.

The thing I'm most interested in right now is growing plants. I need a fence built and then I'm on my way.

I live on the west side of town so I can do lunches if they are on this side of town. Otherwise, an evening meeting during the week would work. I get off at 6pm so the earliest would be 6:30 for me.

Oh, and I would be interested in the seeds the other member offered... well except for the bitter melon. :-)

I just had an email from a member who asked if anyone needs seeds. He has saved seeds from his garden and is interested in donating them to the group for anyone who's interested. He has the following:

Malabar spinach

a few sunflower seeds

Indian bitter melon

red garnet amaranth

A seed exchange would be another great group activity that could be done in person or online. How cool is that, to share seeds from plants that have done well in our gardens right here in south Texas!

If there aren't enough people interested in actually meeting, maybe we could do more of an online group, with only occasional meetings, say a couple of times per year? I'd still be interested in doing the group on those terms.

Another possibility is something that David Buchanan mentioned -- to merge this group with the SA Sustainable Living.
