How does your garden grow?

Can anyone fill me in on what plants/trees they are using?
I would like to make a food forest in my backyard and am wondering what are the best trees and plants to grow. I am trying the 3 sisters (corn, beans, squash) at the moment but those are annuals.
My yard is pretty small (1/4 archer) and is in a suburb
1. What do you use for nitrogen fixers? Will green beans work?
2. What do you use for dynamic accumulators?
3. What trees and shrubs grow the easiest?

I know this group doesn't talk much on the forum. Is there another forum that you would suggest?
