What would you like to get out of the group?
I want to be educated about extraordinary claims. I would like to be able to influence society for good. I would like to find some mental clarity in life.
Do you have a favorite in the skeptical community?
Martin Gardner, then Carl Sagan, then Isaac Asimov
Are you interested in skeptical activism (e.g. the 1023 Campaign)?
I would love to help protect real medicine from those who spread misinformation to sell their placebos to sick people.

We have annual dues. They will be $5 per year and I will give everyone until Dec. 31 to pay. You can pay me when you see me at a meetup. You can also pay the other event organizers if you don't see me (Monica, David, Jan). We have to pay $72 every 6 months to the Meetup organization. That means $144 per year. If we get more than that, the extra money will be applied to the next year's fees.
