San Bruno Mountain Watch is an environmental group that is located in Brisbane, CA on San Bruno Mountain. Just one mile south of San Francisco, San Bruno Mountain is an open wilderness, one of the largest urban open spaces in the US. It is home to three endangered species and 13 rare and endangered plants, an inland sand dune, and several Native American shellmounds that are the last remnants of a native community that lived here hundreds of years ago.

We have been caring for this mountain for decades, and offer weekly opportunities to join with other volunteers and become stewards of the mountain, including helping out at our native plant nursery, and working with other volunteers to preserve native ecosystems. We also hold regular hikes to pristine and hidden areas that are not easily found without our guidance, and that still look the way San Francisco did hundreds of years ago before Europeans arrived.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
