Yep, we're a laid back group just out for a little fun, whether it be a happy hour at the beach, a bike trip across Europe or a rafting trip over the the world's largest commercially rafted waterfall.

Why are ASA trips posted here?

People at Meetup events often ask me how I've been able to travel to so many places and get such unusual photos. Many of the pictures are from trips I've done with Athletic Singles Association (ASA). In just the past few years I've heli-biked and jet boated in New Zealand, rafted and boated through the Panama canal, climbed waterfalls in the jungles of Honduras, Belize, and Guatemala, night snorkeled with rays and sharks at Ambergris Cay in Belize, biked and kayaked around Victoria Canada, and camped on canyon rims at Zio, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon.

I'm assuming that some people joined this meetup for something more than a pub crawl or bike around the bay, so I'm going to start posting some of ASA's international adventures. I'm going to set them up so you don't get the usual emails and reminders, you'll have to check the calendar.

The vast majority of ASA's clients are located in Southern California, which means you'll likely stay in touch with people you meet -- and often travel again with them. ASA also matches roommates, which saves you a great deal of money over "singles supplements". Since I travel often, I compare prices and ASA's trips are about the same as some other tour organizers except that ASA's price INCLUDES airfare, and other companies don't.

About the Organizer: You never know what to expect from a guy with a dolphin fin tattoo'd to his throat, do you? I'm actually just a quiet but social guy who travels the world for new adventures, whether it's heli-biking the mountains of New Zealand or picking up women in London with a world-famous celebrity pickup artist. I try to encourage people to step to the edge of their comfort zone and at least take a look off the edge; you only live once, and none of us are getting any younger. If many of your sentences begin with "I can't", "I won't", or "I'm offended" then we probably aren't going to get along well.
