Bryan, sounds like you should teach a class on what you know. And if you do, I hope it will be top of the line to back up what you are saying.

Really not trying to be a dick, for whats its worth, but I think maybe a disclaimer stating the for "entry level aquaponics", very rudimentary for me at least, I was asked to rate and leave a comment, so I did. My expectations my be grand, but I am looking for more ways to stretch the boundaries and take my aquaponics to the next level. The knowledge base was just to small for me ,personally.

No offense taken here. Thank you for the feedback. There is always room for improvement. This was my first experience with this meetup group. I was unsure what to expect. I would love to take aquaponics to the next level. That is why I am involved with the Aquaponics Association and work with the Aquaponics Source.

Alternatives for fish food, the importance of worms in the grow beds . I feel we watched him cut a tote and drill a hole, Rocket science! I guess I expected a little more. I am no Aquaponics expert, But in the 2 1/2 years I have been doing this, I have learned more from a book, than that class. So just to put it out, If you need help with design, building, fish, plants, and any questions please feel free to contact me. Sorry to sound rude or Ungrateful, not my intentions at all, The instructor was great, and everyone was nice, and thanks to all that setup the meet, and Sd totes and drums. Thing were just missing for me

Correct Bryan, I thought the purpose of the event was to demonstrate the construction of an IBC and barrel system. I do not frequent hydro stores, they are usually closed when I am off work. I buy most of my materials online to save time. Also, several people that attended do not watch YouTube. Great ideas for topics for future meetups.

I think Bryan you missing the point of these Meets, the meet up was about build an IBC and barrel system. Which it was. But that's not all you get from these meets, I've been doing this three years and I've done all the books and You Tubes but the real world experience is cant always get from books, I met a bunch of new people with incites and experience unique to them which they shared freely. Plus Steve was a wealth of information before and after the demo. I always come away with something new. An idea, concept or even a new contact.

This was a good demonstration of a couple simple designs that could get just about anybody into aquaponics. I have a working system and didn't learn much from the demonstration, but this event wasn't billed as a technical deep dive or anything like it so I wasn't expecting much beyond what I saw. The presenter did a good job explaining and answering questions. All around, I thought it to be a successful meetup and hope it gets some more people into it.

Disappointed, seemed more like Marketing for Drums and totes and Santee hydroponics, and for aquabundance, oh and tclyncs. I feel like easy systems were made, that anyone could have made from watching a video on youtube, And a Uniseal Can be found at ANY hydroponics store in San diego for under 3 bucks, which you don't actually need a Uni at all. Pumps, air pumps, grow media, can even be found at a local pet shop. I feel like the time frame was too short and a lot of things were not covered. Grow media, was not covered in depth, options for grow beds, one type of fish was mentioned, oh and shrimp, no bell valve options, no talk on ebb and flow, trickle, vertical, or A frame systems.

That was very enjoyable! Agree with Gary, but if next time we ask everyone to move out so that more people can be in the circle, it should improve things. Thank you so much to Greg and Steve for the venue and the content!

Just getting started in aquaponics, could really use help with best resources for materials and advise on setup. So sad that I can't make it to the June 1st meetup.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
