ORGANIZED BY A MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER WHO HAS WORKED WITH TEENS FOR OVER TEN YEARS, THIS GROUP WILL HELP YOU EXPERIENCE:
· Fewer arguments at home and more quality time with your teen.
· A student with more confidence and curiosity, and less apathy and frustration.
· Security in knowing you are doing more than encouraging your teen to live up to their potential - you are also providing practical tools that will make success easier to achieve.
· A healthier, stronger family relationship to help your teen navigate the temptations and difficult decisions that every middle school student faces.
UNLIKE OTHER PARENTING ADVICE AND ACADEMIC SUCCESS PROGRAMS, THIS GROUP WILL:
· Help you understand how the communication structure between the school, yourself, and your student changes from elementary school to middle school and how you can handle the stress, misunderstandings, and mistakes that may arise as your student adjusts to a new way of working with his or her teachers.
· Give you new communication strategies and organizational tools to help you stay organized, on time, and clear about what is going on. This will save you from hectic mornings and last minute hassles, and will save your student from making the types of simple mistakes that can reduce their grades and increase their stress.
· Help you know how to prepare for and participate in Parent-Teacher conferences to get the information you need to help your student succeed. Learn how to work with your student’s teachers as an effective ally, instead of feeling like an outsider.
Hi Everyone!
Before our hectic holiday schedules kick into gear I thought I'd host another meetup. If you have any special topic ideas or concerns please let me know ahead of time.
The location is an inexpensive pizza type restaurant so if you want/need to bring kids you can. There's plenty of room for them to eat and read a book(do homework?) while waiting for us. Read more
