 Arthyr Chadbourne:

The Joy of Joys
April 12, 2012

7:30 p.m.-10 p.m.
Joyce Beers Community Center, Hillcrest
Admission: general, $12; members, $7

The use of “planetary joys” was a mainstay of the ancient application of astrology. Over the many centuries of astrological development, except among classical astrologers, it has become less known today. Too many astrologers tend to view the joy of the planets as weak influences that really give very little, if any, credence to a chart. Such a view could not be any further from the truth.

When fully understood, the planetary joys become the very background of the chart. Without the knowledge of the joy of the planets, we can associate that lack as a ship without any steering mechanism. Indeed, the joy of each planet and the houses that the planetary joys associate give us the sails, rudder and steering mechanism that allow us to fully conceptualize the horoscope if its fullest details.

Join SDAS and Arthyr Chadbourne on Friday, April 12th for an evening of planetary values such as you have rarely experienced. Once you come to fully understand the process of planetary joy, you will never read a chart the same way again.

Arthyr W. Chadbourne is a third generation astrologer. Steeped in traditional astrology from an early age, Arthyr’s knowledge and insights on astrology have always placed him on the cutting edge. In addition to bringing the vitality of the past to the present, Arthyr has been a long-standing advocate for exploring new dimensions of awareness in the astrological field.

His last book, Ancient Whispers from Chaldea, was nominated for the prestigious Regulus Award. His latest effort, The Moment of Truth, illustrates this idea very well as he explores and reveals the underlying soul of the astrological chart.

The info Mr. Chadbourne provided was very enlightening and pointed to a method of doing astrology that I will definitely be investigating in the future.

The 'planetary joys' are the houses that each planet most enjoys to be in.
Manilius referred to a planet in its house of joy as being in its temple, illustrating the very deep and profound relationship that exists between the house and its associated planet.
