This group is a continuation of the Proud of Your Irish Heritage Group that has been going on for several years. I agreed to host the new group to give the previous leadership a little break!! My Irish Heritage is from County Antrim and I have been part of the Irish community here in San Diego since I moved here from Oregon in 1997. I am involved in Irish music (play harp), Irish dancing (play for the Pride of Erin Ceili's), Irish language (study Irish at the House of Ireland), and play with several Irish bands. I love all things Irish / Celtic and love to enjoy good Irish craic with my friends from Meet-Up. I envision this group to be a clearing house of every Celtic Event that I can find out about - I'll put them on the calendar. If someone wants to host an event, or host for one of the events that is already going on, we will set it up as a meet-up and send out the invitations. (First event is my world famous New Year's Eve Hoolie at Cnoc an Ceoil). Be sure to check the calendar regularly to see what's up in the greater San Diego area. I also see the discussion areas as a place people can discuss all things Celtic. I would only ask that everyone be positive and respectful. There are many political and social outlooks, and we are a group that is welcoming to all those who are here to have a good time with good friends over good food and good music!! (The definition of good craic!!) So with that, I offer a hearty "Cead Mile Failte" and officially launch this group. Slante!!
