45 mile loop from Rancho Penasquitos to top of Soledad & back

  • This location is shown only to members

This will be a fun loop with a few good climbs (Carmel Country Road, Torrey Pines, Mt. Soledad & the Shores). Starting in Rancho Penasquitos and heading west along the 56 to Carmel Valley. Head west and take Torrey Pines up and drop down Gilman to Rose Canyon then head up Soledad. Drop down Soledad and climb up through the Shores, along and down Torrey Pines and then return along the 56.

The ride is approximately 45-50 miles with 2,500 ft. of climbing.

I've saved the course route and profile in the files section of our group page.

Meet/park along the curb on the south-bound side of Rancho Penasquitos Blvd just south of Azuaga Street, or park elsewhere and meet there on your bike, or along the route if you'd prefer.

Call or text if you need directions or if you've RSVPd yes and can't make it:

Holly -[masked]-3020.

Hope to see you on the road!

Please note that although this group is open to all, we are hopeful to keep a decent collective group pace that allows for everyone to enjoy the ride. These rides are probably not well-suited for new riders, riders who aren't familiar with pace lines and/or safe group riding, or those who are not riding a road bike; please be mindful of that before you consider joining.

If anyone wishes to request to carpool, please post a comment to the ride as far in advance as possible to coordinate.

We ask that anyone who RSVPs for this ride be considerate of the other riders by arriving early to the meet up location and be ready to ride by the start time posted. Please bring plenty of water and enough food for the type of ride posted. We also ask that anyone who has RSVPd to call or text if they’re going to be late or cannot attend. We will only wait a short period after the posted start time for late comers and no shows who haven’t contacted us, so if you do not text or call, you may be left behind.

If there is a decent change of rain this ride will be postponed for safety reasons.
