45 mile loop from Oceanside to Bonsall and back

John Lopez will be leading the group from Oceanside heading east on San Luis Rey River Trail to climb hills around Bonsall: Old River Road, W. Lilac, Camino del Rey, Gopher Canyon Road. We can play the specific route by ear depending on who shows and what everyone is in the mood for or ready to do. This is a beautiful route with good hills!

Meet and park in the lot on Alex Road and Foussat Road in Oceanside. See route map at:

Please be ready to ride at 8:45am. Bring water and food, there will be nowhere to stop after about 30 minutes.

Call or text me if you're running late or if you've RSVP'd and change your mind last minute -[masked]-3020.

Hope you can make it!

Enjoyed the ride and steyed dry until the end. It was good to meet Charles and to see Bill and Rod again. Thanks for not letting me ride alone. Look for pictures by Midnight.

I'll be looking for everyone this weekend.

We've got two weeks until we meet. I will post rides for the next few months shortly. Let me know who wants to start climbing. I'll lead some climbing rides that will step up in length and difficulty. The goal will be a long ride up Palomar Mt. I'm trying to see how many people will be interested. It will be a challenge and will take some commitment. Please let me know.

I'll be shooting for a good warm up before the climb. I hope to get the group ready to climb Palomar from Escondido. We will be posting the next few rides by Sunday. Hopefully!!. Leaving from the 24 hour fitness in Escondido to the top of Palomar is about 32 miles. This ride will take place sometime in March or April. Stay tuned for the upcoming rides.

Cool thing. :) Previous times I rode up Palomar I started from Del Lago Blvd at I-15, where bus 20 stops, tho that's a rather long ride in. Would you take Cole Grade Rd to 76 or are you planning on riding up Valley Center Rd? (the latter scares me a bit northbound descending Bear Ridge into Rincon, tho it's probably safer when it's a group of cyclists rather than a solo one).

Looks like the rain may subside by the time we meet. Are we still on?

Try to make as many of these climbing rides as you can. When the series starts, it will be difficult to just to show up and stay with the group. Unless the rider is in climbing shape. It will be much easier to grow with the group. If I find a few fast riders in the group, I will adjust there rides. This will be fun but challenging. This will also be designed to have a progression in fitness. At times we will join other small groups. I will stay with our core group but this integration will help all riders involved. Holly and I will discuss and plan the up coming rides. Let me know if there are any questions or thoughts.

Hey everyone, let me know if there are any questions. I'll try to get back within a few hours. Everyone is welcome! To keep the group moving, this should not be your 1st or 2nd hilly 40 mile ride. For those who did the Thanksgiving day after ride, this ride has 1000 ft or more climbing. Also, this ride is closer to 50 miles.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
