What do you use data analysis tools for?

I use R as the main interface for loading data, running analyses, and producing figures. Some computational lifting is coded in C++, and I am currently working on exporting to R via Rcpp.

What statistical/data analysis tools do you use?

I'm a graduate student at UCSD/SIO working on time series analysis methods, model selection/comparison, and forecasting with applications towards population modeling and identifying ecosystem structure.
