Basic statistical analysis in bioinformatics (statistical graphics, differential expression, script writing for bioinformatics). I just finished an internship at the National Center for Genome Resources (NCGR) in Santa Fe, NM where I completed my master's thesis in comparing R-based programs for determining differential expression among gene counts from a glioblastoma RNA-seq dataset (the programs were edgeR, DegSeq, and DESeq; so work with baySeq was also done). I'm excited about learning more of R's graphics capabilities as well as programming techniques for bioinformatics. I am particularly interested in database functionality, parallel computing, and any object-oriented methods for R. I'm still currently in New Mexico but I'm considering relocating to San Diego (I have family in the area) and I would love to find a job that let's me continue developing and applying my R programming skills; though my work has been in bioinformatics I would consider programming for other fields.

I have recently earned my Master's degree in applied/industrial mathematics; my thesis was in bioinformatics (emphasizing R applied to RNA-seq data). I enjoy programming in R and would love to learn more about the language and its capabilities!
