Hello Everyone

I am currently taking the Data Analysis class from Coursera given by the John Hopkins University. I wondered if anyone else in the SD area is taking the course and would like to discuss the class material. Previously, I finished the Computing for Data Analysis class. Though I am moderately familiar with R, I still received exposure to material I hadn't been aware. If interested, you can contact me at credcrow@yahoo.com.

Yes, I'm taking the full "Specialization" which will take almost a year to get through. At least, assuming I don't become independently wealthy, taking each class one after the other. At the moment I'm near the beginning, halfway through the first class, Data Scientist's Toolbox. So far, light and easy :)

I'm in Escondido, but might be landing a job at Qualcomm soon. I'd be glad to meet with others taking this course, as well as actual and future Data Scientists.

I am taking the Coursera specialization as well. I'm about halfway through - just finishing up "Reproducible Research". I'd be happy to meet and discuss.

There's a set of Coursera meetups at http://www.meetup.com... which is apparently unreachable if you just come to meetup.com and do a regular search. At least, I don't get any results unless I go to the Coursera link.

Tomorrow (as i write this) there's a presentation on big data and data science in Vista - http://www.meetup.com...
