Drupal Web Sites Demystified - How to build a Drupal site in a few hours

This event is part of Drupal Global Training Day, an initiative by the Drupal Association to introduce new and beginning users to Drupal. These are training courses that are designed to bring a student from no-Drupal knowledge to a place where they can choose to be a developer, themer, designer, site architect, engineer, etc.

In this morning session we will cover the basics of building a web site using Drupal. Drupal (www.drupal.org) is an open-source, content management system used to power over 400,000 web sites.

Topics covered will include:
Installing and hosting Drupal sites
Drupal modules and themes
Modeling data using custom content types, fields and taxonomies
How to use pages, menus, blocks and regions
User roles and permissions
Where to go for help in the Drupal community

The sandbox web sites will be available for about 2 week for you to play. If you have any follow up questions, feel free to contact me. If you are looking to take your Drupal knowledge to the next level, check out my upcoming Drupal course through UCSD Extension:

It's too bad I missed this one. Looked like a good topic since I just got started on a Drupal project. Does anyone here have experience with Ubercart on Drupal 6?
