September Book Suggestions

user 8581775

Hi Everyone,

It's been at least 6 months since we've picked a topic for book suggestions so I decided to make a list.

She's Such A Geek (2006): An anthology that celebrates successful women in tech and geek culture

Unlocking The Clubhouse (2003): Women in computing

A New Species (1993): Gender and science in sci-fi

Fantasy Girls (2000): Gender in the new universe of science fiction and fantasy television.  Fantasy Girls examines whether Xena, Scully from the X-Files, etc. are really breaking away from gender stereotypes

Ink-Stained Amazons and Cinematic Warriors (2010): Superwomen in modern mythology. Ink-Stained Amazons argues the exact opposite: Characters in Sci-Fi/Fantasy are breaking gender norms even if they're just sidekicks
