Point Loma Paddle (No Rentals)

Lets meet up at the Shelter island beach and try and be on the water by 8:00 AM. We'll paddle out to the point and back, which is about a 8 mile round trip. If anyone is into it we can comtinue the paddle into America's Harbor and go to Mitch's Seafood for lunch. This will add about another 2 miles to the trip, but's it's optional for everyone.

Some of us men do not become manly until at least 9 am, but we have stamina!

I watched the new 3D wizard of Oz movie this past weekend and now I'm afraid to go out in the rain....I'm melting ;-)

Was a fun paddle! Only us manly men showed up though, Scott was three hours late but hey who's counting? A little bumpy at times a little windy, but the wind was at our backs on the way back in. Mitch's was good as usual, and the SKY the sky was fantastic.

Oh so now it 3 hours late? Was definitely a good paddle. Oh and Greg, your predictions were pretty right on.

Hey Guys, I'm out. The weather is misrable at my house right now and I don't feel like paddling in the rain now. Sorry.

Not even a quicky paddle to Mitchs?

      1 · November 21, 2013

Hey Everyone, looks like I can make it after all. The weather is calling for scattered showers. When I see that forecast it means it's going to be a slight chance of drizzle in SD bay. It's going to drop more heavily on inland and foothills areas. Come on out and join us for a wonderful paddle in the low 60's and 6-8 mph winds and small swells at the point. I garantee seal spottings and maybe some dolphins and if we're lucky Jim or Scott will get jumped by a Great White for some spectacular camera shots and a free kayak for the first person to call dibbs :-)

Si Senor. Now Scott I don't want to hear in the morning your alarm didn't go off. It's only a tsunami and hurricane winds....easy peasy :-)

Too early for me and apparently going to be too cloudy and maybe wet. Boy, you folks sure like to get out there early!

    2 · November 20, 2013

    • Jim C.

Early on SD Bay is good, less wind and less boat traffic. Both can be a pain. :-)

Hey Dave, stop partying so late into the night and get up with the early birds and get on the water :-)

Good morning. Late mornings or afternoons are better for me. I don't have a kayak so do you guys ever go where there are rentals? My schedule changes weekly so hopefully I can make it soon!!

At our South Bay paddles you can rent SOTs if you arrange it in advance.

Hey Guys, I'm going to have to bow out of this paddle, a work project came up and I won't be able to host this paddle. Jim, can you take the reins of this paddle and host it for me?

We tend to meet more in the mornings, but we do other times too. When are good times for you?

Hey fellow kayakers! I am new to the area and work most weekends. I would love to do a morning paddle with someone who knows the area. Would anybody like to go out this Thursday 11/21 or Tuesday 11/26? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Looking forward!
