Paddle Full Moon in Oceanside

The title is misleading because it will occur the day before the full moon when the moon is almost just as bright but comes up about 55 minutes earlier. Giving us the moonrise before the sunset. Meetup for 630, paddle a lap around the marina then head out to the breakwater for lap there as well. Bring your favorite ghost stories to celebrate Halloween. I am posting this early to give the North County paddlers time to plan for a fun evening paddle. This will obviously be weather dependent.

    Directions to Parking:

Coming from the South you will take "Oceanside Harbor Dr" Exit 54C. It is just past Camp Pendleton exit. This will loop around and put you on the road heading West. In about 1/4 mile the road T's, go left, then right at the Y intersection. The harbor will be on your left as the road curves to the right around a bend. When the road straightens out the guest dock and police dock will be on your left. There is also a sign on the hill on the right side saying O.C.E.A.N.S.I.D.E. with individual letters. I don't know if they are lit up at night so may not be much help.

Coming from the North also exit at "Oceanside Harbor Dr" then right at the end of the off-ramp.

Park on either side, parking is free and plentiful year round. There are two ramps down to the dock and worse case of parking means you have to carry your boat 100 yards. If still unsure send me a PM and I'll give you my phone # so we can stay in touch.

The rental place on the water closes at 5:15 so the only options for renting are Up Sports or OEX kayaks in Oceanside. It will require you to pick up the boat before 6:00 and return in the next day.

I've never been to the O'side Marina. Will the launch site be obvious as I drive into the place?

There are 2 launch sites. On the South side of the harbor, there is a boat launch ramp. The parking is not free in this area. On the North side of the harbor, there is a "guest dock". There is free parallel parking here. There is also a free parking lot at the harbor, if you want to drop off your kayak(s) at the boat launch and then go park and walk back.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
