Hometown: San Diego, California

I recently bought a used Perception Shadow and a used kevlar Seda Viking. I'll be using the Shadow, the Seda will be a loaner. I've taken whitewater kayaking lessons, didn't learn to roll. But I can wet exit any day! Since moving back to California, I also took the self & assisted rescue class at Aqua Adventures. I've rowed a lot of Grand Canyon, and have done two newb-type WW kayaking trips--lower Grand Canyon starting at Separation, and a stretch of the Verde, both class II. I've been to river guide school. I used to live in Yuma where I had a tandem recreational kayak which I used often on the lakes and river with a family member. I'm an experienced backpacking guide, so I know my way around maps, GPS, LNT, etc. etc.
I think maybe I am approaching "intermediate" level, but still need to take some more classes--I don't have my roll yet. I have several "bucket list" trips: 1. Lower Colorado River from Hoover Dam to Yuma, using a cart to portage around the dams. 2. Channel Islands. 3. Sea of Cortez. 4. Green River from Green River Utah to Confluence.
I recently moved to North County from Arizona. I grew up in San Diego. Backpacking, river rafting, kayaking, cycling. I've rowed a lot of Grand Canyon a couple of times, but am a newb to sea kayaking.
This is a nice group, very friendly people! They actually go paddling, too, they don't just sit around and drink and talk about paddling.
