Expat Life in Belize with author, Sonia Marsh

Ever dream of packing up and moving to a tropical island?

Sonia Marsh is a gutsy woman who, together with her husband and three sons, swapped a comfy materialistic life in Orange County for adventure on the island of Belize in Central America.

That year abroad led to writing her memoir, Freeways to Flip-Flops: A Family's Year of Gutsy Living on a Tropical Island. She'll be talking about expat living and how the adventure brought her family closer and eventually back to California.

Have you lived overseas? Bring your own stories to share.

Location:We're meeting at Andre's Cuban and Puerto Rican Restaurant on Moreno Blvd. (It's the closest I could find in the area with a tropical menu and room for our group!)

Parking is on the street or in the lot next to Andre's market.

The event is cross-promoted with other meetups and not exclusive to Meetup members. Travel partners, family and friends are most welcome.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
