I make and sell wood toys. I invented the Copenhagen Solar Cooker.
I like making Wood Toys and Solar Cookers.
I want to teach people how to make < $5 Solar Cooker from foil and poster board. It really cooks! Kids as young as 7 have made them.
Fun and educational as always.
Sherry, your idea of educating people and getting them started with solar cooking sounds great. Thanks for joining the Maker Faire meetup group. Please tell us more about yourself at http://bit.ly/sandiegomaker so we can better understand our community. Also, watch for our next monthly update meeting. Hope to see you there!
Greetings from Kansas, Sherry! I am just new to the whole Meet Up scene today and am delighted to find you.
Many years ago I was living a very frugal pioneer type life as I was uncovering a log cabin in Kansas. I discovered a method to make solar yogurt with a system of jars, tea, and reflecting large tin lids...it worked great. There was electricity in one building so I also learned to cook all kinds of things in an old style electric popcorn popper. If your travels include KS, stop in.
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to let you know how much I enjoyed the solar cooking class you taught at David's a few weeks ago. It was interesting and fun!
thanks, sherry. I hope there will be some. i really want to get this down. At the permaculture course I am taking right now with josh, Alden brought his solar cooker, set it up in the morning and the food was ready for lunch.... I totally see this as a great way to go.... Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Welcome to Survival Preparedness Sherry ! I will be at the upcoming BBB+B this Wednesday at the Elephant Bar in Rancho Bernardo if you would like to meet some of the other like-minded members. I will be there to answer any of your questions and talk more about what the group is about.
