San Diego .NET Developers Group - November 2013

Rock Your Code Using Code Contracts (David McCarter) - This session will introduce developers to the new powerful new feature that is part of the .NET 4.5 framework called Code Contracts. Code Contracts brings the advantages of design-by-contract programming to .NET programming. Contracts are used to improve testing via runtime checking, enable static contract verification, and documentation generation.

Managing Your Technical Career (Kim Smith-Rohlf) -

The tech job market is heating up again and recruiters are calling.  You've got some decisions to make.  Should you stay where you are or should you explore new opportunities? Contract or permanent job? Management or individual contributor role?  The right decision can help take your career to new heights.  The wrong decision can land you in a worst job than you have now.  Bring your toughest interview questions because we are going to do some Q&A on technical interview questions as well as questions covering soft skills and give you some ideas on how to answer them.

Kim Smith-Rohlfs is a San Diego based technical recruiter with 16 years of full life cycle recruiting experience.

I am very excited about code contracts, thanks to the talk. The discussion on handling your technical career was very good as well and has given me much to contemplate about who I am as a developer and where I want to be. Thank you, David and Kim.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
