Weed Talk: An Open Forum To Discuss All Things Marijuana

Come join other like minded people in the pro cannabis community. Public opinion has recently shifted such that a majority now favor legalization. But in California, the first of the States to approve medical marijuana going back to 1996, recreational use is still prohibited. Cities and local governments continue to oppose permitting storefront sales. Delivery services are subject to arrest and felony prosecution.

Clearly there is conflict between a majority opinion of the people and the laws in California. Despite this conflict, marijuana plays an important role in the lives of many people, as a medicine, as a business and as a way of life.

As marijuana makes it way back to the mainstream, this Meetup is an open forum to discuss all things marijuana: art, business, culture, growing, harvesting, hemp, law, medicine, politics and psychology among many more. I plan to facilitate discussions so that we can share information and benefit from our experiences during this time of conflict.

Since we do share a common agenda in favor of legalization, it is important to present a positive image. How can we continue to build public opinion in favor of legalization?

Your participation is welcome.

Perceptions exist fomented and perpetuated for various reasons that those that partake in cannabis are somehow unproductive and uninspired and are summarily condemned as being sinful of sloth. The entertainment industry capitalizes on this falsehood with comic characters while news outlets tend to relate these individuals as non-conformists lawbreakers to be shunned. These perceptions are certainly in need of reversal with the presentation of real compelling facts.

I agree. It is a complete false in that the most destructive drug on earth is condoned by our got, society and the times. Drink yourself to death they should proclaim! With new bars on every corner and more coming! A much less harmful "medication" is being shunned and zoned out of San Diego City limits! Done! But, I thought Californian said yes? Anyway you slice it, it is similar to where I live. Smoke and your a no good pot head. Drink too much, throw up on front steps, party all night, change into rude kids with no respect for person or property. not to mention those families suffering from a member who is an alcoholic. City of San Diego is on a March to install as many drinking establishments as they can for revenue. Guess their not thinking of EMS, police, funeral/mortuary, ER money spent caring for their damage.

I just hate that no one went! What can be done to get members of what I thought was most active group and best place to donate money. I have seen many celebs and such as members. Why are we still so underground? Thanks!
