Board Games & Beer Geeks Day!

Want to explore the board/card game hobby? Want to explore and learn about craft beer? This is your group!

It is a very casual newbie-friendly group, created to help people who are new to the board/card game hobby.

There are many great game stores and game conventions in SoCal. Many of them are very dry places and not very social unless you are already experienced. We don't want to be that kind of place!

We'll bring out games such as Dominion, Cards Against Humanity, Fluxx, Small World, Pirates Cove, Tsuro, Dixit, Bakong, Zombie Dice and even some traditional games such as Milles Bornes. We'll bring the games, you bring the good company!

Hi! What time does everyone usually stop playing? I have a crazy schedule this Sunday (Normally I get off work at 2:30). :)

I will actually have to skip this one. I had high hopes, but work is just a little crazy this week. I should be back to regular schedule for the next one. :)

I am very interested in attending, but I am not knowledgeable of many games. I like carcassone, scrabble and dice games, but will need to learn the others like the ones you have listed, is that ok? I am a quick learner, promise.

Anglea, you should definitely come out! This event was launched to cater to people that are not familiar with a lot of games. Whenever we play, the owner of the game always explains how to play and the basic strategy. If you come out on Sunday, I'm sure that you'll have a good time. The games are designed to be fun even when you are not familiar with them, and you won't be playing against a bunch of experts. If you are interested in good food and socializing while learning a couple new games, you are definitely welcome.

Sorry Zeke. I don't play backgammon. I need to skip this week. Might see everyone in the future.

Hello Zeke! No worries about not knowing the games. Even I don't know most of the games we play. Learning how the game works is half the fun! In the last 3 months I have played about a dozen different games and have only played 2 games more than once. You are welcome to bring backgammon, but to be honestly, it likely won't get played. I try to arrange things so we mostly play games with at least 4 players, since it gives everyone more people to talk to without the need to wait around for a new opponent. See you a week from Sunday!

Yes, this meetup is going to happen, despite the proximity to Christmas. Of course, it probably won't be a big crowd. Likely, 4-6 people.
