Mt Laguna, because we do have seasons in San Diego

Let's try some new trails up at Mt Laguna. We will meet at Wooded Hill group campground and start heading up the Wooded Hill nature trail, the highest bump in the Rec. area with trees on it. We will then follow a use trail down to the Old county rd and drop down to the meadow, loop around the meadow and head back through Escondido Ravine and back up through Agua Dulce to the CG. It's about 8 miles and a mix of hills and meadows but not alot of climbing at the finish.

Bring plenty of water for yourself and dog, snacks, potty bags and because it's the mountains maybe a light jacket.

Carpools can be arranged. I come out the 8 freeway so the Grantville Trolley station works for me. It takes approx 1 hr 15 min from downtown San Diego. We would meet there by 715 to arrange rides and head out.

8 east to the Sunrise Highway, turn left and continue to the Wooded Hill Group CG(Left hand side of the Rd) also known as Morris Ranch Rd.

From the North County you would drive through Julian and the 79 turning left on the sunrise highway.

you need and Adventure pass to park. pick thes up at any sporting goods store in SD

Superb hike with much new territory for me. It was great hiking weather and an escape from the heat at lower elevations. Leanne, as usual, is amazing in her photographic knowledge of the myriad trails that crisscross Laguna. I especially enjoyed watching the dogs play in the water. It was interesting watching the dogs react to the coyotes. Brandy, to my thankful surprise, came back when Shirley called her. This was the first time Brandy experienced coyotes off-leash; she (~30 pounds) tries to attack them when she meets them when she is on-leash. Thanks, Leanne, for the hike!

great hike, the Black Oaks are peaking now and gold. It was great to see Melinda and Fred and Shirly again. the temps were cool in the am but did warm up a bit in the afternoon but it sure wasn't as hot as it was while I drove thru El Cajon. Great fall hike

I'm not sure my ankle with recent surgery would make it that far.
