The Power of Layer Masks in Photoshop

Photoshop Layer masksOne of the beauties of Photoshop is the ability to make changes globally, not just globally.  Layer Masks are a powerful way to accomplish this, whether it's for contrast, color correction or sharpening.  Discovered how to get started with this wonderful feature.

In a "seminar"-type presentation, John will show you how Layer Masks work while he is open in Photoshop. Questions encouraged!

A useful handout will be provided. Please note that in the interest of time, the focus will be on "Layer Masks", rather than other functions, tools, and concepts of Photoshop.

In addition, let's have our members "pre-submit" images by email or via my webpage upload (click here), and John will use a few of your images - Please submit by Monday, 04/09/12.

This free workshop is designed primarily for those fairly new to Photoshop, but it is also a good "refresher" course in the basics for those with a bit more experience...

John will provide bottled water, so if anyone else wants to bring goodies, chips and dip, cheap snacks, etc, please let me know - Let's have some fun!

RSVP early, as we need to strictly limit this to 45 people - See you there!

Another great meetup on Photoshop. So much information, so little time! John Watts was very brave in trying to make us understand layer masks in a limited amount of time, and he did an amazing job as usual. Looking forward to the next one...

Very helpful, even more than very helpful if I remember that my only expense was gas to get there and time. Thank you.

Excellent meetup. I learned a lot about using adjustment layers with masks. John keeps it fast-paced and interesting.

Excellent information presented in a very useful but mildly haphazard fashion.

John does an excellent job of imparting his knowledge while inserting his special brand of humor. Thank you, John!!

John is an excellent instructor giving clear instructions and the hand out was very helpful for review at home. Looking forward to his next presentation.

Very good...a little confusing, but it will probably all become clear when I use it. Thanks for all your efforts!

Hi Lynn, no need to bring a laptop (not really room for it anyway) - this is more of a "seminar/presentation" format - - see you tonight!

I had to cancel my rsvp, I think it bumped up the first person on the waiting list. Wish I could attend this one!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
