Photoshop: The Finishing Touches

  • May 9, 2012 · 7:00 PM
  • Photographic Arts Building - Balboa Park

Sometimes, it's the "little things" - The way you crop your image, that little bit of retouching to remove a stray hair on your grandkids face, straightening the horizon on the perfect sunset - - - Come spend some time learning how to put the "finishing touches" on your images!

Subjects include: Basic Retouching, Resizing and Cropping your Image, Proper Sharpening, Time-savers, and more...

In a "seminar"-type presentation, John will show you how to put on the finishing touches while he's open in Photoshop. Questions encouraged!

A useful handout will be provided.  Please note that in the interest of time, the focus will be on "the Finishing touches", rather than other functions, tools, and concepts of Photoshop.

In addition, let's have our members "pre-submit" images by email or via my webpage upload (click here), and John may use a few of your images - Please submit by Monday, 05/07/12, RAW files welcome ...

This free workshop is designed primarily for those fairly new to Photoshop, but it is also a good "refresher" course in the basics for those with a bit more experience...

As this presentation is in a “seminar” format (via a digital projector), bringing your laptop is NOT recommended, due to limited space and time.

John will provide bottled water, so if anyone else wants to bring goodies, chips and dip, cheap snacks, etc, please let me know - Let's have some fun!

RSVP early, as we need to strictly limit this to 45 people - We should be finished up by 8:30 PM - See you there!

PS - If you have my Photoshop Book, you should bring it with you (rather than the provided notes), as we'll be working from sections within the book - and the pictures are in color, lol!

Great! John's presentations have improved steadily... now, he packs a bunch of useful information into a short time. I really appreciate what he's doing.

It was a useful class, made somewhat more difficult by the very wide range of skill levels of those attending. Perhaps slightly more preparation by John might have made things flow more smoothly, but all in all, it was a worthwhile, fun experience.

I appreciate John making the time in his schedule to provide these free seminars. The handout provided for this particular seminar is concise and provides useful workflow suggestions.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
