Check out this map on MapMyRun: 3.47 mi Revised OB route
Distance: 3.47 mi
Let's check out this new route. I love it! It may seem a little complicated at first, so check out the link above and read the directions. It's actually pretty simple- an out-and-back route with a tiny loop down by the Hyatt, so don't get spooked. I'll also bring a paper map with me so you can check it out. If you want, you can also do a simple out and back (option 2)
We'll run down Bacon and onto the pedestrian path that follows the water. This is the San Diego River Trail. When you hit the bridge we'll turn left and run over the bridge. Follow the bike path straight when you get off. Run down to the stop sign, and continue straight across the road and across the grass until you hit the pedestrian path. We'll follow that along the water all the way to the Hyatt. Make sure you follow the pinkish pavement, not blacktop, and keep along the water. At the Hyatt you can do the loop (Option 1) or turn around (option 2)
OPTION 1: When you get to the Hyatt and see the sign for the Red Marlin restaurant make a right at the sign, run through the parking log, cross the street and run up to the dirt pedestrian path. Make a right and run until you pass under the bridge, then veer to the right and follow the first side road down to the traffic light (2 mile mark) Cross Mission Bay Drive and run straight until you hit the pedestrian path right by the Fish and Chips place. This is the path you came in on. Go left and run back to OB the way you came in.
OPTION 2: If that route seems too tricky, you can just do an out and back. Run out until you get to the Red Marlin sign, then turn around and run back.

We meet here.
Below is the sign you'll see for the Red Marlin restaurant at the Hyatt. Turn right to start the loop.
