We run a fun 20 tournament home series that sends the winners to the WSOP tournament in Vegas each Summer. This past season we awarded 2 grand prizes of a $10,000 Main Event entry plus $750 in expenses; we also awarded 7 other WSOP seats in $1,000 to $1,500 events. We have been running our WSOP Qualifier Series for 6 seasons now and expect season 7 to be our best ever! Our players range from beginners to experienced with everything in between - just like any poker tournament.

Here are the basics: This is a 20 tournament series where your best 14 finishes count. At each event we pay out 50% of the cash to that night's winners and save the rest for our overall prizes (there is no rake and we make no profit- all proceeds are paid out to our winners.) The overall points leader (or leaders as this year we sent the top two players to the Main Event!) at the end of the series will win a $10,000 seat to the 2012 Main Event in Las Vegas - and have a shot at winning millions! Our 2nd place through 4th place finishers will earn $1,500 to $10,000 seats, depending on our attendance during the season.

We will also hold a playoff tournament for the next 16 finishers to award more $1,500 & $1,000 WSOP seats (last season there were 5 playoff seats awarded).

When our winners cash in the WSOP they keep 50% of their winnings and The Syndicate gets and then distributes the other 50%. Everyone that plays gets one share in The Syndicate for each tournament played during the season. The champion of 2011's Main Event won $8,715,638. If The Syndicate's 2011 champions, Tom E. or Lynn H., had won the Main Event, and you had played in each Syndicate event, your share would have been worth $135,126!

While only your top 14 scores will count it does pay to play as many events as you can as you will receive 5 bonus points for each event entered. These points do add up and if you play in enough events they could really make a difference.

For newcomers, please note that the 14 score limit really only aplies to players at the very top of the leaderboard who can play a full schedule.  It really has no affect on a player's chances of making it into the playoff tournament.

We have an outstanding poker venue plus plenty of food & drinks. We use the Tournament Director software to run our events and use top quality tables, cards and chips.

If you are interested in playing or in more information please contact send us an email at sdsyndicate@san.rr.com.  You can also find more information and all the details on our website at www.sdsyndicate.com.  Additionally, you can follow us and interact with other players on our FaceBook page (just search for San Diego Syndicate: Poker).

Please note - we are not a business, our group is run by its players and we do not make a profit. All money collected is paid out at our tournament or in the form of WSOP prize packages. We do collect an optional $5 for food and basic poker supplies.
