Welcome San Diego Writers!

The group is for anyone who shares an enthusiasm for writing. Our focus is on writing, reviewing each others work and on motivating each other to get our projects done in a compassionate and supportive community!

Inviting writers in all genres, published or not, to share work and provide constructive feedback in an informal, supportive environment. Also to share experiences in publishing process and make friends with fellow writers.

The idea is to operate both online and offline to provide a forum for people to receive encouragement, advice and feedback on their writing. Also, to talk about and explore the business side of writing and publishing options. To be centered on the creative aspects of writing, while acknowledging the business and marketing aspects as well.

Our aim for feedback is honesty and encouragement. When offering feedback, we ask you to be sincere - it does nobody any good to be told that their painful text is great - but at the same time to be constructive. Aim to balance things you liked with things you think could be improved, and to give the writer some suggestions about ways to improve in a constructive manner.
The group is about helping each other and motivating each other to succeed in their writing goals.

The group is not just about critiques, it's also about helping with that tricky plot, discussion of characterisation, ideas on publishers to approach and the benefits of self-publishing. Learn how to take your book ideas and make them real and actually make money. Learn how to promote yourself and your business with your writing. This will be a helpful and supportive group that will be open to anything at all that would be helpful with your writing.

The synergy of the group will push you forward in your writing. You will learn to be a better public speaker and have a great resource of inspiration and motivation.

*** You need to have attended a Writers Meet-Up to be included on the email list to review Writers submissions. You do not need to submit work to attend, but you must have attended a meet-up to submit work for review. THX!

***This groups focus is on Writing...not marketing. Publishers are welcome as long as they do not spam members.

***Inactive members will be terminated after 90 days...this just means visiting the site...we want you to participate in meetings...that's what Meet-Up is all about...but if you haven't visited your Writers profile in 90 days the Toyman will terminate you...Ouch!
