Let's meet up and have lunch prior to the Big SoCalEuro Gathering

  • September 14, 2013 · 12:45 PM

NEW NOTE: With the addition of the SoCal smarties, we will have a larger group than originally anticipated. To accommodate this change I've moved to start time up by 45 mins to allow us a bit more time to eat.. You're welcome to arrive when you'd like but we will plan on leaving at 2:30. Keep in mind, with the larger sized group it will take a bit longer for staging and organization.

As a rally point (and lunch venue) prior to the SoCalEuro Gathering, we'll meet up at Chipotle's in Mission Valley (Near the Target parking lot in Mission Valley Mall). We'll leave from there around 2:30-2:45 and do a mini-caravan to Qualcom Stadium for SoCalEuro.

As Bob mentioned in the SoCalEuro Meetup event, if you plan to attend the SoCalEuro Gathering, please RSVP with them as well at http://big.socaleuro.com/2013/rsvp.php The event is free, they just want to know numbers.

If you don't want to eat at Chipotle's, there is a Corner Bakery and Pei Wei in the same lot just one or two doors down respectively.

If anyone feels an hour isn't enough (and it may not be depending on how many people join us from LA) I'd be happy to move the start time up a bit.

Hi everyone. I have a pro bono interpreting job for a San Diego Food Bank fund raiser at Mission Valley Mall (just across the parking lot from our meeting place) just prior to our lunch. I'll be there before we roll out but probably not before 1:30. See you then!

That's perfect. Feel free coordinate at the rally point as you see fit, if you'd like & if needed. :)

The latest count for those So Cal Smarties coming to San Diego in the caravan is 12 smart cars & 15 people.

Bob, do you think it would be possible to ask those from LA to let us know their numbers (or join this group and RSVP) so we have an idea of how many to expect to join us for lunch? Just thinking of the logistics. If enough are joining, we may want to move the lunch time up a bit to be sure we all have time to order, eat and get going without being too rushed.

I did that but don't know how to know who from that group will be joining for lunch (as opposed to breaking off and going directly to Qualcomm or elsewhere)

A phone number can be convenient to get in contact with the LA crew.

We will do our best to arrive around 1:30, traffic permitting. Keep your fingers crossed for good traffic conditions.
