Ok Wild Hogzz, we are going to do a ride that we have not done for a long time.  Let's go to the Desert Tower in Jacumba for a brown bag lunch.  Yes that means we won't be going to a sit down restaurant.  Our route will take us to Santa Ysabel via the 76, to Wynola, down Banner Grade, the S2 across the desert to Ocotillo, up the mountain to the Desert Tower for lunch.  After lunch, we take Old Highway 80 to Lake Cuyamaca, and will end the ride at Santa Ysabel.  This will be long day of riding, so don't forget to pack a lunch, or you can buy snacks at 2 different stops before lunch.  Please come prepared with a full fuel tank and appropriate gear for head hands and feet.

Being along aliens was awesome; I am taking about the one in Jacumba. This ride was quite different than previous ones, riding on the cold upper land of Santa Ysabel and then going down to the warm desert was variety of landscape. My favorite ones was Ocotillo and Hwy 80, no traffic = beautiful. I enjoyed so much that kind lost track of time, didn’t feel that long.
So Cheryl and John got an A for picking a route and guide us safe back home.
Still working on the video, seems like I got good footage, so I probably will send it before the end of the week.

1/17/2014 Reminder: This will be a long day of riding so I'd like to ask everyone to get to Nessy's in time for the 9:00am Safety Brief, KSU at 9:15am. Bring a lunch and there will be 2 stops at mini-marts before lunch in case you forget. Weather update for tomorrow: Desert: sunny, high 76; Mountains partly cloudy high 62.

Well everyone, someone tried to steal my bike. I had a disc lock installed and someone tried to steal it out of my parking garage. They tried to roll it and didn't realize I had a disc lock on it. My front fork is damaged and they tried to roll it so hard the front brake disc is bent. I am cancelling all of my rides I signed up for until I found out how long my bike is out of commission. Its been fun riding with all of you...

Hi all, just getting the bike out of the shop for (hopefully) the last time. This would be my first ride with you guys, so could someone clarify the meeting place? Is it the Pala Mesa Market in Fallbrook shown at the top of this page?

    January 14, 2014

    • JohnH

Yes, it is the Pala Mesa Market. It is right next to Nessy Burger.

I originally had to cancel but I want to hang out with this group at least once this week, so I will be able to make this one but have to pass on the Sunday ride with EC this week. This one looks fun.

Whoops. I zigged when I should have zagged... I'm always getting my dates mixed up. Great! This works out then, I can meet everyone on Palomar Mountain then if it's Sunday after next.

I might as well pick up a new set of pegs now because I'll probably have to replace them at the base of the mountain at the end of the day...

I live in Lakeside but would love to meet up with the group on the way in Santa Ysabel. What would be a good time to meet up with the group there?

    January 13, 2014

    • Cheryl

Hi Robert, We are riding straight from Nessy's so I estimate we'll be in Santa Ysabel approx 10:00am, give or take. You can meet us at the gas station Mini Mart. See you there!
