Wunderlich County Park (Woodside) Hike

Hello All,

After a several week hiatus, we will finally once again lead a hike this coming Saturday at Wunderlich County Park (outside Woodside). Wunderlich County Park near Woodside has an extensive network of trails that provide a variety of adventures, types of plants and trees, and views. Our route will consist of a clockwise loop in the park with a lunch stop mid-way at a lovely meadow with fine views and a bit of further exploration of the meadow. This hike will be moderately strenuous to upper level easy (5.5 miles length, 1000 feet elevation gain).

Driving distance/time: 11 miles / 30 min. approx. each way Cost: Mileage ($6 per car round trip )+ Park Entrance fee ($5 per car)

the night before the hike. I will leave an outgoing message with any notices about
hike cancellation due to weather. Meet: 9:30 am at the California Avenue Caltrain Station, 101 S. California Avenue,
Palo Alto (meet on platform side of parking lot near middle where
underpass is located) to carpool

10:15 AM: Parking lot (near bathrooms) Estimated finish time: 1:30 PM (back at trailhead)

Wunderlich County Park near Woodside has an extensive network of trails that provide a variety of adventures, types of plants and trees, and views. Our route will consist of a clockwise loop in the park with a lunch stop mid-way at a lovely meadow with fine views and a bit of further exploration of the meadow. From the parking lot, we will join the Alambique Trail and follow it to the Meadow Trail. Turning right onto the Meadow trail, our route will take us to the Oak Trail with a lovely forest. Next, we will turn right onto the Bear Gulch Trail. After a short segment on this trail, we will arrive at "The Meadows" and turn right to rejoin the Meadow Trail. We will take a lunch break and admire the fine meadow and lovely views.

After lunch, we will rejoin the Bear Gulch Trail and follow it to and through a Redwood Forest. This trail will then allow us to close our clockwise loop in the park by taking us back to our starting point. DIRECTIONS from Palo Alto to Wunderlich County Park

- Take the I-280 NORTH towards SAN FRANCISCO
- Exit to WOODSIDE ROAD (Exit 25)
- At end of off ramp take a left onto Woodside Road
- Continue on Woodside Road through the village of Woodside for about 3.2 miles
- PARK ENTRANCE for Huddart Park will be on RIGHT
- We will meet on the side of the parking lot near the bathrooms
