Hello Hikers,

Coal Mine Ridge Preserve in the Town of Portola Valley is just a few miles from the roar of Silicon Valley in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains and provides an oasis of serenity and wonderful opportunities for hikes amongst oaks, toyon, and bay trees. Wooded ridgeland with intimate views of Windy Hill and Portola Valley are a distinguishing feature of this preserve.

Our hike will be an intermediate level hike at the easier end of our usual range with a length of 6 miles and 1000 feet of elevation gain. More details are listed below.

Note that we will be starting the hike later than usual at 11:30 AM, and we will have our usual carpool point in Palo Alto at the California Ave. Caltrain station where we will meet at 11 AM.

I hope you can join us for this Meetup’s next-to-last hike of 2011....

Your Organizer,
Julio M.
